I’ve always been in love with the sea and through all the wide variety of land-based jobs, nothing compares to this and to the thought that, one day, I will be the one entirely responsible for the ship and all the people around me, to the highest level. While in some aspects the job can be repetitive, stressful or give a loneliness feeling, I still love the idea of going to work every day and get to stare out of the windows at an everchanging seascape, getting to meet people from all over the world and hang out with a brilliant crew when I’m off. On the other hand, getting to be challenged daily makes me want even more to become a professional and overcome all the obstacles in my way. Secretly, I love the bureaucratic side of this job as well.
My name is Ana Maria Raicu-Parpala and I am from Romania. Being a student in the 3rd year of Naval Academy “Mircea cel Batran”, River and Maritime navigation department, I decided to look up for a company that would give me the chance to start my carrier and lead my steps to become a great professional. I’m looking for a deck cadet position, willing to work my way up with every day I spend at sea, improving myself while using my skills.
Over the past years, the twists and turns I’ve had in my career so far, are experiences I learned from. The variety of projects I’ve been able to attend while working onshore, the tools I’ve learned and the problem-solving I’ve been able to do, led my steps to this new career I try to develop.
I am familiar with the basic principles of navigation and I got to participate in Basic Safety Training, to make myself ready for this journey. I also added to my background the Ship Security Awareness along with the Passenger Ship training. I already have my Seaman Book, my passport is valid and I have a B1/B2 US visa.
I attached my CV for your consideration. At your convenience, I would like to conduct a personal interview wherein I can tell you more about my experience and the skills I can come up with, in order for you to consider me a fit candidate for this position.
Now I am in all respect ready with all required documents and looking for a qualified company.
I have a short experience. I love the sea and I will do all my best in your Company.
All my seagoing experiences have recorded and can present upon request.
Now, I would love to use that all my best, all my experience to help Your Company succeed.
If you will accept my candidacy, I will make no less effort and will work in full force, as always before.
Thanks for taking the time to review my application. Looking forward to hearing back soon.
If you don’t have an open position for Deck Cadet now, please add my cv to your database of mariners to consider my candidature in the future.
PS: My husband is a 3rd Engineer and he is willing to change the tanker vessels for any other type of vessel if someone gives us the chance to reunite our family. We spent so much time apart and we hope that this industry supports family life as well as supports safety and the health of its seafarers. I also attached his CV for your consideration.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.
